Tempe Tile Roof Repair
Broken and slipped tiles replaced and ridge lines re-bedded, with replacements matched to your roof.
Concrete tile is the most common roof on Tempe homes built since the 1970s. The tile itself is tough, but it cracks under a heavy step, a fallen branch or a satellite installer, and it slides out of line when a nail or hanger fails.
A cracked tile isn't always a leak right away, since the underlayment is the real water barrier. But it lets sun reach that underlayment, and sun is what dries it out. Replacing broken tiles early protects the layer that matters.
We keep a stock of common profiles and salvage tiles from re-lay jobs, which helps when your roof's color has faded over the years.

Broken pieces slid out and a matching tile fastened in place.

Loose caps re-bedded in mortar or set on a new ridge system.

Tiles pulled back into line and secured so they stay put.

New or salvaged tiles sorted to blend with a roof that has weathered.
| Concrete tile | Clay tile | |
|---|---|---|
| Common on Tempe homes | Most homes built since the 1970s | Less common, often custom or Spanish-style homes |
| Color over time | Surface color can fade in the sun | Fired color holds well |
| Repair approach | Match profile, then blend color | Match profile and clay color, sometimes salvaged |
| Walking on it | Step low on the tile where it's supported | More brittle, step carefully |
Usually. Many concrete profiles are still made, and we sort new and salvaged tiles to get the closest color. On a heavily faded roof, we sometimes move a few original tiles from a hidden slope to the front.
Not always right away, because the underlayment sheds the water. But exposed underlayment wears quickly in the sun, so it's worth replacing broken tiles soon.
Old mortar cracks as the roof heats and cools. We re-bed loose caps or switch to a mechanically fastened ridge system.
Yes, it happens. If you've had panels installed or removed, we can check the tiles around the mounts.
Send a photo of the damaged tiles if you can. We'll check the rest of the roof while we're up there.
